An elegant finishing touch for any patio, balcony, decking area or even conservatory can be achieved by the addition of a classic 2 seater bistro set.

Bistros originated in Paris when bustling cafes over-flowed onto the pavements and owners capitalised on the trade by providing small tables and chairs when Parisians could sit, chat, drink and watch the world go by. That cafe culture still dominates in Paris and many parts of continental Europe and remains as chic as it ever was.

Traditional bistro furniture comprises of a small table to seat two, with matching chairs - although there are a few four seater bistro sets these days too. The style we think of as being authentic is very reminiscent of Victorian outdoor furniture, made of ornately sculpted wrought iron normally painted white, black or racing green.  

It is more common nowadays for this style of two chair bistro set to be made of aluminium which is not only lighter but also more weather resistant than wrought or cast iron.  Aluminium products can be left out year round and need very little care - simply clean with warm soapy water. Of course, should you wish to take them inside in winter they are light and often foldable.
